Stitches From The Heart is a beautiful needlework store specializing in counted cross-stitch and needlework accessories. Every other month Stitches From The Heart stages a “Midnight Stitch.” Stitchers can come in anytime during the day and socialize with other stitchers until the party breaks up at midnight. There is a small charge to cover sandwiches or pizza. The event is so popular that there is a waiting list to attend.

The “Stitching Table” is available during the day for anyone to come in a sit and stitch. The customers even form their own weekly stitching groups. These stitchers are naturally great at helping and inspiring other stitchers (and would-be stitchers). After all, everyone loves to show off their own projects!

Creative Stitches and gifts in Dallas, TX

Photo 2

Creative Stitches and gifts opened their door on May 3, 2005 in a Dallas, TX strip center with 2,000 square feet. After 8 years, expansion was inevitable.

FinalKreinikCabinet

On January 15, 2013 Creative Stitches and gifts relocated a mile down the road occupying 3,552 square feet of retail space. At this time they realized the need for cross stitch in the Dallas area and hired Diane Willwerth to head up this department.

Crossstitccharea

Creative Stitches & gifts had 22 feet of wall space wallpapered with rice paper to display their canvases. The rice paper prevents staple marks from showing when replacing sold canvases. The customers love being able to see all the canvases at a glance.

IMG_0805

The pride and joy of the store—the custom Kreinik cabinets. They not only hold all the Kreinik but also Bijoux and Accentuate.

IMG_0806

The 312 foot office is the true work horse. The office includes a 60 sq foot closet that holds all of the store’s finishing projects and back stock of threads and items.

Threadwall

85 different threads representing 19 different manufacturers are displayed on 17 feet of wall space expanding up 7 feet high or can be found on numerous spinners. The remaining three feet of wall space is utilized by showing off the various project bags carried by the store.

IMG_3

Creative Stitches and gifts is fortunate to have a glass enclosed 500 sq. ft class room that can hold up to 20 students. The room is equipped with two large gridded dry erase boards that make showing stitch patterns easy for teachers to demonstrate. Three large tables and swivel cushioned chairs bring great comfort for students.

Valley Needleworks in Middletown, VA

VNDSCN6810
Valley Needleworks is located on Route 11 in Middletown, Virginia. The outside is very deceiving as you step back in time when you enter the Pre-Civil War log home. Inside you will find a plethora of cross stitch supplies, along with hardanger, punch needle, and huck embroidery/Swedish weaving.

VN2
This is our “Thread Nook” that is bursting with an assortment of colors from The Gentle Art, Weeks Dye Works, Classic Colorworks, The Caron Collection, Rainbow Gallery, Needlepoint Silk, Dinky Dyes, Gloriana, The Thread Gatherer and, of course, DMC!

VN3
The shop is an extravaganza of needlework accessories, supplies, tools, and finishing fabrics amidst the warmth of the logs.

VN4
The Valley Needleworks’ Team of Addict-Stitchers is Denise Thornton (Left), Jennifer Cave – Owner (Middle), and Karen Crowell (Right). We are dedicated to serving you with all of your needlework “addiction” needs!

VN5
Embellishments include Kreinik fibers, buttons, brass and silver charms, mother of pearl buttons and accessories, silk ribbon, frames, bell pulls, pretty pins, trims…a tremendous variety for all of your finishing needs! We have banding in an assortment of counts, colors, widths, and edgings. The fabric display is one of two that houses 7 to 55 count fabric, solid, hand-dyed, over-dyes, aida, linen, Huck, printed, Hardanger, punch needle, opalescent/silver, Ariosa, Dublin…the list goes on and on!

VN6
Charts, charts, and more charts! The stone chimney and log walls were unseen for many, many years until the lead-painted wainscoting, horse-hair plaster, and the square nailed slats were removed. The transformation has been incredible! The next task is to restore the room connected to the back of the home – the original 1½ story log cabin with another stone chimney.

VN7
More tantalizing goodies to entice you are behind and above the front door. It is amazing how much we fit into only a 1,200 square foot area.

VN8
As you walk in the front door, the hectic-outside world just melts away… aaaahhhh! We have an “unseen” presence from time to time – Katherine! Please say “Hello” to her when you visit. Straight ahead is the Fabric Table where we cut by the square inch.

VN9
Gatherings of needlework addicts abound; Needleworkers Anonymous meets one Saturday afternoon monthy; The Valley Stitchers meets one Saturday evening monthly; well taught classes are offered throughout the year. Stitcherhood = Free Therapy! We also have our Deal of the Month, trunk shows, and Meet & Greet the Designer opportunities for our customers.

VN10
Our wonderfully cozy register area is the spot to be on a hot and humid Virginia summer day—right in front of the air conditioner. Most of our needlework accessories are located here – scissors, Mill Hill products, our New Items, laying tools, needle minders, fobs, thread keepers, etc.

As we say at the shop—Always by Stitching ~Jennifer Cave

Retail store displays from Forget-Me-Nots in Grove,OK

009

Forget-Me-Nots was established in June 2011. The independently owned needlework store is located in a historic home that owner Lisa Houck remodeled. The Grove, OK store is 1800 square feet with a view of Grand Lake.

DSC00284

Forget-Me-Nots specializes in counted cross stitch but they also carry needlepoint, stamped cross stitch and embroidery, Brazilian embroidery, Huck/Swedish weaving, Yarn, Punch Needle, Crewel and Tatting supplies.

DSC00299

Forget-Me-Nots was born when a friend of Lisa's decided to retire and close her needlework shop. Lisa purchased her cross stitch inventory and began the process of opening a store.
Lisa and her husband had a piece of property from a previous business that had a little rock house on it.

DSC00286

"It was so cute outside, but a wreck inside. In February we began ripping out walls and starting over. One month before we were to open the Joplin tornado hit an hour away in the area Greg and I grew up. This was a setback and we opened 6 weeks later then expected. We finally opened the doors to the public on May 27th, 2011.

Since then I have met so many wonderful stitchers. I love when they come sit on the front porch with me to share a glass of tea, enjoy the lake view and stitch."

DSC00300

Forget-Me-Nots has a beautiful classroom and lots of places to just sit and stitch. They are currently trying to plan yearly or bi-yearly retreats on the lake.
