What You Save in a Flood by John Mark N. Reynolds
There was a flood in Houston, they called the storm Harvey, and the water got close to our house. We got ready to go, packed our bags, but never had to leave. Today we unpacked and put away our things. The piano where on the night we had a last bit of show tune singing at the height of the flood is safe.
We will be able to have another family sing and that is good.

How to Clean a Vintage Cross Stitch
Earlier this week Paula shared that she created her family room using vintage Virginia Tech memorabilia.
"A Virginia Tech football cross stitch that my grandmother made back in the 1980’s is one piece that I used in my display. The cross stitch had gotten quite dirty over the years, especially since it spent the last 20 years in my classroom.
Before I could use the cross stitch in my display, I knew that I would need to clean it. It ended up being an easy process that didn’t take long to complete."

Baraboo studio takes throwback approach to fiber art

"I see you’re continuing not to put a picture of yourselves on the cover and instead you’ve got a patchwork effect. Why did you decide to use that as the cover of the album?"
You know as far as not having our photo on the cover, we just always think it’s more interesting to have some visual art on there than just a picture of us. People can find out what we look like if they want. The cross stitch, needlepoint thing… Whit had found a cross stitch of Walter White from Breaking Bad and he showed it to us and said ‘what if we do something like this? This is cool’. We started looking at these old school samplers and things, and we thought if we took little images from the lyrics of the songs and put them on there, it would be interesting. Full article.
