The 2017 Collective Stitch event will have a theme of
“A Postcard From. . .” and a size of 84 stitches wide x 56 stitches high. This will make the stitched piece 6″ x 4″ on 14 count fabric—similar to a postcard size. Shops are responsible for making arrangements with a designer to produce a chart they will submit to be included in the event. The theme should offer a lot of options for your designer. Last year, some asked about designing specifically for the shop and, with this theme, they can. It can be designed for the location of the shop—such as state or city, the mascot, logo, or favorite of the shop, or it can be a favorite place of the designer.
The event is intended to get stitchers into the shops, generate excitement for the cross stitch community, and promote the designers who are the heart of the event. It is promoted as a shop-hop, mystery stitch, treasure hunt. Each shop will have a unique design that will be given away as a one-page copy to customers who visit the shop between June 1 and August 31. Shops have the option of having designer trunk shows, prizes for the stitching of their chart, etc. For more information, contact Patty Hurwitz at collectivestitch.com
